Don’t you love this vintage vacuum?
This circa 1911 Goldenrod Vacuum Cleaner is fascinating not only in its design but its use! The Goldenrod was one of few manual vacuum cleaners very often marketed and sold in rural areas due to a lack of electricity. The vacuum created suction by pushing a piston down the tube repeatedly to vacuum up dirt and debris. It required constant pumping to keep suction.
