How do I rent the museum?

E-mail the Museum Executive Director Beverly Childs at bchilds@andersoncountysc.org. She will need type of function, number of people, date, time, and if you plan to serve wine or beer. You will receive an e-mail reply with the cost.

 

What are your hours?

The museum is open Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Wednesday – Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

How do I do research at the museum?

The Roper Research Room is open each Tuesday from 1 – 7 p.m. or by appointment with the curator. On Tuesdays, there is a trained volunteer in the room to help you with your research.

 

How do I book a tour?

Tours are booked with a volunteer docent through Jacob Hill. Please call or e-mail Jacob to schedule a tour: (864) 260-4737 or email jhill@andersoncountysc.org. Include the time and date you would like to come. Tours are done for 3rd grade and above school groups and community groups of ten or more. We do not charge for tours but appreciate a donation from groups.

 

How much is the admission to the museum?

Admission to the Anderson County Museum is free, however we do encourage donations. Donations to the museum help with the upkeep of current exhibits and the production of new exhibits.

 

Does the Anderson County Museum purchase artifacts?

No, the Anderson County Museum does not purchase artifacts.

 

How can I volunteer?

It’s easy to volunteer at the museum! Contact the museum:  (864) 260-4737 or email acmuseum202@gmail.com. You can also stop by the museum and fill out an application.

 

What type of artifacts does the museum take?

The museum takes artifacts related to Anderson County and/or South Carolina.

 

How do I donate an artifact?

You can make an appoint with our Curator, Dustin Norris  – 864-260-4737 or rdnorris@andersoncountysc.org  – to donate artifacts.

 

Does the Anderson County Museum do appraisals?

No, the Anderson County Museum does not have a certified appraiser and we do not do appraisals.
