Our artifact of the week this week is a photograph of Captain and Mrs. John Daniel sitting outside E.M. Snipes photography studio in Anderson. Elbert Monroe Snipes was a photographer in Anderson whose studio was open from 1892 to 1910. His son, R.L. Snipes was also a prominent Anderson County photographer in Pelzer in the 1910s to the 1930s. This photograph was taken where the S.H. Kress store stood between Church and Market Streets.
